I enjoy every aspect of my job, but my favorite part of being an author is definitely visiting schools to speak with students. I offer three different presentations. I am aware of the fact that schools are on a tight budget so my school presentations are very affordable. If you are interested in a school visit, please send me an email. Include the address of the school. Please ask if you would like a presentation a little different from what I offer.

Adventures at Walnut Grove: A Lesson about Teasing- PowerPoint presentation K-2
I read Adventures at Walnut Grove to your students from a PowerPoint presentation. I bring puppets of all of the characters in the story. After I read the story, I ask for volunteers (to use the puppets) and help me with some questions about the story. We will discuss teasing, diversity, treating others as you would like to be treated and the importance of trying your best. I will also tell your students what inspired me to write Adventures at Walnut Grove.

We will then make two different crafts that reinforce the lesson in the story. Allow at least 50 minutes for the presentation and crafts. Each presentation should have a maximum of 90 students, preferably by grade. We will need an area with tables to work on the crafts. Please download the information/supplies for the crafts.

We will then make two different crafts that reinforce the lesson in the story. Allow at least 50 minutes for the presentation and the crafts. We will need an area with tables to work on the crafts. We will discuss both stories and the life lessons they teach. This presentation is 45 minutes.
